Description
"Deeply rooted in the stony soils of the Bottelary hills, our gnarled dryland bush vines are tended with the same quiet reverence today as they have been for generations, yielding a wine of striking character and history."
Tasting Note
Enticing aromas of white pear blossoms, with stone fruit flavours of peach, nectarine and apricot persisting on the palate. Aromatic yet elegantly dry — a versatile food match, particularly recommended with creamy pasta or mild curry dishes.
In the Vineyard
Sourced from dryland, low-yielding bush vines planted in 1976 in the Bottelary area. The vines thrive in sandy loam soil on a southern slope, with rows strategically aligned north-south.
In the Cellar
One third fermented in barrel, two thirds in tank, followed by three to four months of lees contact without malolactic fermentation. Blended, stabilised and filtered prior to bottling.
