2. Age Restriction

It is illegal to sell alcohol to persons under 18. Alcohol not for sale to persons under 18.

3. Products and Availability

  • We reserve the right to limit quantities.
  • Product images are for illustrative purposes; vintages and packaging may vary.
  • Prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Ordering and Payment

  • Orders are confirmed upon successful payment.

  • Full payment is required before dispatch.
  • You will receive an order confirmation via email.

5. Delivery

5.1 Delivery Timeframes

  • Standard delivery: 3–5 working days within South Africa.
  • Working days exclude weekends and public holidays.

5.2 Delivery Fees

  • Delivery fees are calculated at checkout based on your location.
  • Free delivery may apply to orders over a specified amount (where advertised).

5.3 Delivery Requirements

  • An adult (18+) must be present to receive and sign for the delivery.
  • Proof of age may be requested by the courier.
  • If no authorised adult is available, re-delivery fees may apply.

5.4 Risk and Ownership

  • Risk passes to you upon delivery.
  • Ownership passes upon receipt of full payment.

6. Returns and Refunds

6.1 First Bottle Guarantee

Not satisfied with your first bottle? We offer a money-back guarantee or exchange on the first bottle of any new wine you try. Simply contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order details, and we will arrange a refund or replacement.

Conditions:

  • Applies to the first bottle of a particular product per customer.
  • Bottle must be at least half full (we understand you needed to taste it!).
  • Available on wine purchases only.

6.2 Damaged or Spoiled Products

We take great care in packaging your order, but if your wine arrives damaged, corked, or spoiled, we will replace it or issue a full refund.

To claim:

  1. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide photographs of the damaged product and packaging.
  3. Retain the product and packaging for collection (if required).

6.3 Incorrect Orders

If you receive an incorrect item, contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange collection and send the correct product at no additional cost.

6.4 Change of Mind

Due to the nature of alcohol products and licensing regulations, we cannot accept returns for change of mind unless the product is unopened, in original condition, and returned within 7 days at your own cost. A 15% restocking fee may apply.

6.5 Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 5–7 working days to your original payment method.

7. Consumer Protection Act

Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 are respected. You are entitled to:

  • Return goods within 6 months if defective.
  • Safe, good-quality products.
  • Clear and accurate product information.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • Vineyard Vault shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website or products.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the value of the affected order.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, customs, or circumstances beyond our control.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website—including logos, images, text, and design—is the property of Vineyard Vault or its licensors and is protected by South African intellectual property laws. Unauthorised use is prohibited.

10. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We do not sell your data to third parties.
