Nagahama Red Wine Cask #2244
Description
Nagahama Red Wine Cask #2244
A small-batch Japanese single malt that moves from American whiskey cask influence into a final spell in Japanese red wine oak.
This Nagahama single cask spent its first three years in ex-KOVAL casks from Chicago before receiving an additional year in a Japanese red wine cask. The result is a compact but characterful whisky that layers youthful malt sweetness with spice from the American oak and a final sweep of red-fruited complexity from the wine finish.
Key Facts

Why This Whisky Matters
Nagahama's tiny scale often produces whiskies with a highly individual cask story, and this release is a strong example of that experimental spirit.
Serving
Best enjoyed neat. A little water can help reveal more fruit and malt.
