Description
De Toren Edition Z in magnum. This is the estate's Right Bank-inspired, Merlot-led blend from cool, clay-rich ocean-facing vineyards, named after the Zephyr breeze that cools them. The magnum is ideal for celebrations and for longer cellaring.
Tasting Notes
The nose is fragrant with violets, black plum, blueberry and mulberry, with cassis, liquorice and a light dusting of cedar and vanilla. The palate is medium to full-bodied and full of dark berry fruit and black cherry. Soft tannins lead to a creamy, lingering finish.
Blend & Maturation
Merlot leads, supported by Cabernet Franc and a little Petit Verdot (the 2019 is 67% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot). It is aged for 12 months in French and American oak.
Serving & Cellaring
Serve at 15–18°C with duck, lamb, beef, poultry or richer fish dishes. Drink now or cellar for 15 years or more.
